- Abandoned Farm-First Year: A community of crabgrass, insects, and mice invades the field and crop, corn grew.
-Second and Third Years: Tall weeds, asters, ragwood, tall grasses grow among the crabgrass. Rabbits and seed-eating birds move in.
-Four to Six Later: Pine trees begin to grow and shade the weeds, wich begin to die out.More birds join the community and small mammals like skunks, and opposums.
-Twenty-Five years later: Seeds of decidious trees such as maple, hickory,and oak sprout and take root. Larger animals like raccons, and foxes begin to visit.
-One hundred Years later: The forest is mostly decidious forest trees. Deers, raccoons, and foxes also live in the forest.

er community that is the first community in an area. I learn also that a climax community is the final stage of succesion in an area. Also,that the gradual replacement of one community by another.
